This is the first I have heard about it! Please all, share and share so as many as possible knows about it when it comes here. I don´t even know if it is here already.
Please make what you can to alert all about it! Thank you!

Gracias!

HI THERE EVERYONE........I'm Teddy and this is my story.....

Luckily for me I was found on the Friday evening before the Treasure Hunt, roaming around Terreros. I had no chip and nowhere to go, so the kind San Animal lady Jan took me home with her.

She brought me to the Treasure Hunt on Sunday and everyone thought I was such a well behaved boy and so very loving.....I got lots of treats and then Aileen and Dave who had organised the event, said they would foster me until they went back to the UK two weeks later.

Well, two weeks have now passed and I have been checked by the vet and I'm in the process of having something called injections, which are pretty yucky.
I have grown to love my new Mum and Dad and I've been very good for them so I think they love me too, but they are going to the UK this weekend.

THEN....something wonderful happened. They have told me that they love me so much they are taking me back to the UK with them so I am going on my holidays to another country - whooppeee.
I can't travel until 6 June but they are going to put me in a hotel whilst I have my injections - I am such a lucky boy, I really can't believe it.

So I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for helping me when I needed it, especially to Jan who saved me in the first place.
I am now going to have a wonderful life.

Loads of love
Teddy ❤️❤️❤️xxx

So here we are just popping in to say happy Thursday to you all. We're Lola & Luna - podenco cross female pups of about 4 months old.

We have been very lucky and are now in our foster home. Not sure how we ended up here - but someone said that we were dumped outside a vet's.

Anyway - we're now safe and doing well - and very nearly ready to travel.

Please share so that all your friends can take a look at us - maybe one of them would like to take us home with them :-)

The importance of vaccines... Part 1 of 3

Vaccines are the best way to prevent the occurrence and transmission of viral diseases in cats. At 8 weeks kittens should receive their first vaccine with a followup in 3 to 4 weeks and again at 1 year old. What are we vaccinating against and why should you vaccinate? The core vaccines cover 3 major diseases in cats...

Feline calicivirus (FCV, cat flu), Feline herpesvirus (FHV-1, cat flu) and Feline panleukopenia virus (FPV, feline infectious enteritis; feline parvovirus)

We'll start with Feline calicivirus

What is FCV and how is it spread?

Feline calicivirus (FCV) is a virus that mainly causes acute upper respiratory infections (URIs) in cats, although it has been associated with some other diseases also (see below). The virus is readily transmitted between cats through:

Direct contact – through contact with saliva, ocular or nasal secretions, Inhalation of sneeze droplets, Sharing or food bowls and litter trays, A contaminated environment (including bedding and grooming aids)
FCV can potentially survive up to a month in the environment, although probably often does not survive more than 7-14 days.

What are the clinical signs of FCV infection?

Acute upper respiratory infection, Gingivitis and stomatitis, Limping syndrome, Virulent systemic FCV infection

Treatment and management of FCV infections

FCV infections are frequently complicated by secondary bacterial infections, so supportive treatment with antibiotics is usually required. Good nursing care is critical and cats may need to be hospitalized for intravenous fluid therapy and nutritional support in severe cases. Steam inhalation or nebulisation may help in cases of severe nasal congestion and as the cat will not be able to smell food well, using tinned or sachet foods that are gently warmed will help.

Treatment can get very expensive and cause your cat a lot of unnecessary suffering... Please vaccinate!!!
